Greetings!

What a week it has been!  One gets on a roll, full-steam ahead and BANG, just when things are progressing and all is good in the world...life hits!  It hit me hard this week Cory Andrichuk, Presidentwith the loss of my dear cousin, Brian, in a tragic car accident.  His beautiful wife, Leslie, survived the crash but remains on life-support in critical condition.  Their close friends were passengers in the car and sadly, they did not survive.  Two families forever touched by a horrific experience.  One that has changed me and will never be forgotten.

I contemplated sharing this story with you and said to myself..."who wants to hear about my family, the tragedy that has occurred?'  But then I reminded myself that, as your Business Coach, I expect you to share your successess and losses with me and that it would be wrong of me not to do the same with you.  So, this is why I have decided to talk about Support Networks in this issue.

With this loss came the reminder of how important it is to have a Support Network of family, friends and collegues that are there to hold you, and your business, up in your time of despair.  While I was helping Brian's children cope with the loss of their father and their mother's unknown prognosis, my support network took over the reins of my business and held it together until I was able to get 'my together' back.  To them, I am forever grateful - thank you!   I dedicate this issue to Brian, a son, husband, father and friend...a very special man, lost but not forgotten.

CORY SAYS...

Who's on Your POWER TEAM

In reflecting back over the last seven days, I could not have achieved and accomplished everything that we did as a family unit without close connections and supportive relationships in place.
 Support Network
My personal POWER TEAM at home (my wife, my three children and my in-laws) are my source of passion, energy, love and strength.  Without their support, I could not have mobilized as suddenly as I did to be with my cousins' children in another city.  I am eternally grateful for their love and understanding, their support of my decision and for helping me run my business while I was away.

As home-based entrepreneurs we need to ensure we take the time to cultivate our home-based POWER TEAM and to be able to maximize on each moment in our personal and professional lives.  What kind of support do you have in place AT HOME to help you if you had to suddenly leave your home-based business?
Consider how your host agency, or network of fellow colleagues could help...would they be there for you?  Do you surround yourself with the right people and resources that will come 'to the plate' in your time of need?  Do they know anything about your business?  Could they take over if you were not around?  Good questions to ask yourself.

We all have demands in our lives, in our families and with our businesses.   What is your professional contingency plan when you suddenly need to attend to something other than your business? I believe a specific plan is necessary and you need to think of who can you count on when working from home by yourself.

TIP OF THE WEEK...

Teach Others Thumbs Up

Start a list of who is on your POWER TEAM and begin to teach someone you trust the 'ins' and 'outs' of your business, just in case you are not around to take care of things for a period of time.  If you ever find yourself in this situation, you'll be glad you did!  Remember, you can't do it ALL on your own!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK...

              By Winston Churchill

Open Book - Quote If we are together nothing is impossible,

if we are divided all will fail

FINAL THOUGHTS...

It Takes a Village

It has often been said that it takes a village to raise a child...well it also takes a village to support your business.  I believe that the same village will support you and your business if you connect to it and support it.  Connect and ask for help.  Connect with your business weaknesses and surround yourself with a circle of influence that will help you reach your goals and are part of your vision.

I would like to hear from you...please email me your thoughts on how you connect with your personal POWER TEAM at home!

Make it a GREAT Week!
