Greetings!

Welcome to the very first issue of the BUSINESS BUDDY e-newsletter.  I choose the name 'Business Buddy' Cory Andrichuk, Presidentbecause that's how I see myself, as your buddy, and a friend, who helps you find the tailored solutions that work for you and your business.

Each week I intend to bring to you valuable thoughts, feelings, on-going industry trends, newsworthy stories, and practical entrepreneurial strategies to bootstrap you and your business into action!  I want to open a dialogue-door into the inner wisdom we all possess about ourselves and our business, yet sometimes lose sight of it in our daily pursuits.

The weekly issues will also include items such as recommended reading, relevant links, and motivational or inspirational quotes and finally a practical entrepreneurial tip to help you and your business succeed.  Please feel free to recommend, and forward, my newsletter to your colleagues, in and outside the travel industry, as well I welcome feedback from you...ideas, opinions, stories and questions.

My first issue is about Gratitude...celebrate those who have helped you!  Find a way to thank the people who helped you get where you are today.  A loving parent?  A spouse, or significant other?  A family member or friend?  A teacher?  I personally want to start by thanking over 300 of you that signed up for my newsletter!  I (Mr. Positive himself!) could not have imagined such a beginning!  I also need to thank my family and friends - not only am I thankful for what they have done for me, but for what they mean to me.  I hope you find this issue, and all future issues, helpful and encouraging...if so, I am grateful!

CORY SAYS...
Is your attitude of gratitude half full or half empty?

For many travel professionals, it's easy to get caught up in the misery of the Glass Half Fulleconomy and how it has been affecting the travel industry.  You can dwell on the doom and gloom and cry about what you don't have or ... adopt the opposite attitude and be grateful for what you do have.

Successful entrepreneurs understand that their attitudes contribute to their business success.  One of these attitudes is gratitude.  Ask yourself how you practice gratitude?  Do you even practice it all?  You have 86,400 seconds a day.  Have you used one to say thank you today?

If you keep doing what you've been doing, you will get the same outcome. If you want a different outcome, then re-work your mindset, and start thinking with a new attitude...an Attitude of Gratitude.
Here are 4 ways to help change your thinking right away:

1.       Focus on what you have
It is key to focus on what is working in your life.  Focus on the money in the bank you do have.  Focus on the clients you currently have.  Focus on the product knowledge you have acquired.  Be thankful for the friends and family that you have today!

2.      Visualize
Use the images in your mind to replay and create a movie of the people you love and care about that make you feel good.  Create images and movies in your mind about the perfect group you will escort to Alaska this summer.  Create perfect images of the perfect romantic vacation you will take this winter to that secluded island getaway!  Visualize yourself following your business plan and exceeding the sales forecasts because you focused on your niche, your plan and your brand image.

3.       Reward yourself
It helps to start with you... a novel concept wouldn't you say?  I believe that by rewarding yourself, you are thanking yourself and you will be in a better position to reward and thank others.  By taking the time for yourself on a daily basis you free up more quality time for others.   Take a walk, treat yourself to a specialty coffee, go to the spa, or connect with a friend.  And for the biggest reward:  Take that vacation because it is not only great value nowadays, but because you are worth it.  It also makes sense for your business because you gain critical product knowledge to promote and share with your clients.

4.      Do what you love
If you have heard this one before and still shake your head in disagreement - you're probably not truly doing what you love!  If you do what you love and love what you do then you will always feel grateful.

TIP OF THE WEEK...

Customer of the Month Thumbs Up

Single out a client by making them your 'Customer of the Month' and invent a customer award program as a way of thanking them for their business.  A few ideas:  a gift certificate, % off their next vacation, send flowers, or take them to lunch / dinner.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK...

              By Melodie Beattie

Open Book - Quote"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

FINAL THOUGHTS...

A Dream Come True

My dream of becoming a highly-specialized business coach for the home-based travel entrepreneur is finally a reality.  I have taken on this responsibility because I simply love to work with people and help them succeed.  In University, I majored in industrial relations, graduating with a B.A. in Sociology.  I have used my knowledge of motivation, human behaviour and job satisfaction throughout my career in the travel industry to increase my own professional value.  I receive great personal satisfaction from contributing to, and participating in, your personal and professional accomplishments.  Bottom line, I am here to help you fast-track your business and to get you the successful results you want to achieve.

"Thank you.  You have given me a map as to how to start and navigate myself through all of this.  I have high hopes for "me"  that I can be successful at Travel.  I get really overwhelmed with so many choices as to what to use and when and what to market....So, I think this might just be what I need."

Make it a GREAT Week!
