The Interfaith Union is a resource center for people who are dating or intermarried of all religious traditions - Christian, Jewish, Muslim or others - which provides educational support, mentoring, community and the celebration of sacred rites.
Our mission is one of compassion, understanding, and acceptance of all, and recognition that each person's spiritual journey is unique and to be respected.
We are a 501 (c) 3 organization.

A SPECIAL WELCOME...
We are delighted to welcome Father Steve Dombrowski, new Pastor of St. Raymond in Mt. Prospect to our mission and programs. Welcome back!

The Union Schools...
....are back in session. If you have a child who is of kindergarten age to fourth grade, we would be honored to have you join us. Our celebration of welcome is scheduled for Sunday, September 20th; the program hosted by St. Raymond's in Mt. Prospect will begin at 2:00pm; the program at St. Athanasius in Evanston is scheduled at 10:45am. All formal classes begin in October. The schools continue to be a thriving, dynamic, committed community of families: while the children are in class, the parents are engaged in adult education and socializing (we are blessed to have a baker among us - Thank You Guy!). Sacred things are happening here!

For information about the School program, please contact Jen Forrest (Mt. Prospect) at jb4rest@aol.com; or Jeanne Phenany (Evanston) at jphenany@ameritech.net. We look forward to welcoming you!

JOIN US...............................
For the second annual Interfaith Union mass and picnic! We will attend the 5:00pm liturgy on Sunday, September 13th at Old St. Pat's, then move across the street to the park for a picnic (in case of rain, we will move indoors with our food, frisbees and fun!) All are welcome, whether you are new to the group or a long time friend, we are better for your presence.
If you plan on joining us, let us know so we have enough food for all. RSVP to eileen@theinterfaithunion.org. Also, if you would like to participate in the liturgy as a reader, gift-bearer or Eucharistic Minister, we would be honored to have you. Let Eileen know that as well! |

The Under 5's and Inquiry Group
There is NO Inquiry Group this month; we will meet again in November. However, the Under 5's will begin again in October, at three sites: Old St. Pat's in the city; St. Raymond's in Mt. Prospect and St. Athanasius in Evanston. A complete calendar will follow in next month's newsletter. Stay tuned!
