An Invitation from The Interfaith Union!
|
The Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center is a project of
the Holocaust Memorial Foundation of Illinois. This new world-class
museum is dedicated to preserving the memories of those lost in the
Holocaust and teaching current generations about the need to fight
hatred, indifference and genocide in today's world.
You
are warmly invited to join The Interfaith Union on Sunday afternoon,
August 9, 2009 for a docent-led tour of the new Illinois Holocaust
Museum and Education Center in Skokie. We have reserved time for our tour beginning at 2:00pm and ending at 3:45pm. Because of the configuration of the museum, we have been asked that this be an adult-only tour. Accordingly we will schedule another time in the fall for those that are interested in visiting the children's center with their little ones.
It is important that you RSVP by July 19th for this event so we have an accurate count. For members of The Interfaith Union, there is no fee to attend (if you are not a member, please join!).
I was honored to have been invited for a preview showing of the Museum just prior to its formal opening last month. I cannot recommend too highly the importance of this Center in our community: it is worth our time and interest. If you would like additional information, please visit www.ilholocaustmuseum.org.
We hope you are free to join us on August 9th!
