I must first apologize ... this newsletter is much overdue! The first six months of this year has been at full throttle, from preparing for my gallery exhibit at Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in March to preparing for my first African safari in November.

In March of this year I traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for my fourth appearance at Lovetts Gallery. Eight of the 12 paintings that accompanied me across the country were new and exhibited for the first time at the gallery with an overwhelming response.

I am very honored to have been asked by North Light Books to include my sketches in the recently released book "Sketchbook Confidential 2: Enter the Secret Worlds of 41 Master Artists" This book showcases the artists' sketches, as well as their preliminary ideas and thoughts behind a finished piece.
This is the second time that North Light Books has included me and my work in one of their books, and it is extremely rewarding for me and a testament that when you can't figure out how to get something done, you go and do some research! (Read more)

For the past several months, I have been planning my first adventure out of the country to Tanzania, Africa, while also preparing for a museum exhibition and sale in Irving, Texas, at the Irving Arts Center in September with The Gallery of Artists.

In November, I will be traveling to Tanzania, Africa, for the first time and will be spending eight days in the bush in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is home to a baobab forest known for one of the largest populations of elephants in Tanzania along with many species of game and birds. (Read more)

Next on the calendar is a trip back west, this time to Irving, Texas, just outside of Dallas. The Gallery of Artists, an award-winning group of artists, will be exhibiting at the Irving Arts Center September 14-16. Opening Friday night with an invitation-only gala, the exhibit is open to the public Saturday and Sunday. This exhibit is a selling show with all of the artists in attendance. The artists will also be giving lectures throughout the weekend; mine will be Saturday, September 15, at 3:30 pm.
