Fall 2008 a great end to the year
Robert exhibited his work for the first time at the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland, in November. The festival, which pays homage to the annual migrating Canada geese flying overhead, welcomed 17,000 visitors and the nation's finest wildlife artists. Show organizer Waterfowl Festival Inc. is dedicated to wildlife conservation, the promotion of wildlife art and the celebration of life on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Also in November, Robert received the Evelyn and Peter Haller Distinguished Young Artist Award from the Society of Animal Artists. Evelyn and Peter Haller were notable sculptors and longtime members of the society. The Haller award is a cash award sponsored by the Hallers' dear friends Isabel and Sheldon Sklar. Robert continues to be distinguished and will try his hardest to stay young.

Upcoming events 2009 -- off to a great start
The winter of 2009 is a busy time for Robert and his work. February will find him in Charleston, South Carolina, for the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) and later in the month in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show & Sale. And, Robert has been invited to exhibit a piece at the Masterworks in Miniature Show in Mentor, Ohio, at GalleryOne.
This will be Robert's second year exhibiting at SEWE. Once again, he is excited to travel to the beautiful city of Charleston. He's looking forward to visiting with his fellow artists and talking to some of the 35,000+ attendees. Now in its 27th year, SEWE is the largest wildlife art and nature event in the nation, offering world-class original art, diverse exhibits, and lectures and presentations, not to mention Southern hospitality and lots of fun.
Robert's visit to Tulsa for the NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show & Sale will be his first. Like many wildlife art shows, the show's proceeds are used for the development and conservation of wildlife preserves, to introduce wildlife into new habitats and to provide educational opportunities for adults and children on the values of sharing our homeland with wildlife. Robert looks forward to his first visit to NatureWorks. |
