Living Joyfully
|
| "It takes time to care for yourself, but it takes even more time if you don't take care of yourself." -Suza Francina
What if someone came to you offering to give you $5 a day for the rest of your life? It might not seem like a lot on any given day, but over time, it would sure add up! I think that all of us would be happy to receive such a gift. But what if someone came to you offering 5 minutes a day - time to invest in yourself? Truly, this is an even greater gift. And in reality we don't need someone else to offer this to us: we could all take 5 minutes out of our day to breathe, move gently, or just be present to ourselves on a deeper level. This summer, we are offering an unlimited special at Avenues Yoga, and to go along with it, we offer this challenge: take 5 minutes for yourself each day at 12:45, just after lunch, to practice Yoga. Meditate, breathe, move, or simply lie on the floor and put your feet up. Invest in your self, your most stable, lifelong asset. Make these 5 minutes part of your daily practice - without a doubt they will make your time spent on (and off) the mat even more beneficial.
Our unlimited special starts next Monday, Memorial Day (for details click here). This is the perfect opportunity to remember who you are: a being of light and energy, a positive contribution to the world we share. Make 2010 a summer of self love, self care, self appreciation. A gift of time for yourself that truly benefits everyone around you.
I look forward to seeing you in class, and practicing with you each day at 12:45, either in the Express class or on your own. Be sure to post a note on our Facebook page before or after your practice, so we can all benefit & catch inspiration from these little acts of self investment. Namaste, Erin

Introduction to Yamuna Body Rolling
|
| What
is Yamuna Body Rolling? Come find out for yourself in this fun intro class, Saturday May 29.
YBR is a revolutionary
approach to health and fitness. Learn to work specific muscles in detail to create
suppleness in tight areas and optimize range of motion. It is like giving yourself a great massage - and anyone can do it! Introduction to Yamuna Body Rolling Saturday,
May 29, 1-2:30 pm $35
YBR reeducates muscles and
stimulates bones creating positive and permanent changes in the body.
Lying on the ball, you literally roll your body out almost like dough,
stretching and elongating your muscles. The YBR routines follow specific
sequences that match the body's own logic and order. Starting where
each muscle begins at its origin, you roll toward where it attaches to
the point called its insertion.
YBR is a natural complement to Yoga and Pilates: They
both eliminate stress and tension. After a class, you'll feel relaxed
and energized at the same time! You will improve your posture and
alignment. You'll get more energy and stamina. Find out first hand all the benefits of this amazing practice with local teacher Nathalie Chanut. Nathalie is the only Yamuna Body Rolling Instructor in the area, and her studio, Right to the Core, is right next door on Capital Hill. Introduction to Yamuna Body Rolling at Avenues Yoga Saturday,
May 29, 1-2:30 pm $35
