Employees challenged to be
"Champions for Children"

Nearly 1,000 Dickinson ISD teachers and support staff gathered this morning for the district's Convocation -- an annual gathering of employees the week before school starts. Guest speaker Leslie Milder of Friends of Texas Public Schools challenged everyone to be an ambassador for public schools and champion for the children they will teach this coming school year. With help from the Dickinson High School Cheerleaders and Band, the crowd practiced the Gator Chomp and celebrated each school's accomplishments this past year.

A special thanks to Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union and Comcast for sponsoring this year's Convocation breakfast and guest speaker.
