"It's Up To Me To Be Drug Free"
Students celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Students throughout the district were declaring "It's Up To Me To Be Drug Free" thanks to Red Ribbon Week ribbons donated by Maxim Insurance. Activities were also planned on the campuses to honor Red Ribbon Week.

Students from Barber Middle School who participate in Mrs. Sandoval's and Ms. Holman's lunch groups kicked off Red Ribbon Week with a guest speaker from the Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol (BACODA). Toy Jones spoke with the students about the #1 gateway drug, tobacco. The students were educated on the harmful and life changing effects of using tobacco products. Ms. Jones discussed prevention tips and how to resist the temptation of smoking or chewing tobacco. A big thank you goes out to BACODA for educating our students and helping them live a drug free life.
Calder Road Elementary
celebrates Unity Day

Unity DayStudents at Calder Road Elementary made chains and wore orange in celebration of Unity Day. The campus wanted to show a united front in hopes of putting an end to bullying. The chain was made up of pledges from each student promising not to participate in bullying and to stand up for those who are being bullied. Good job!!
