The community is invited to a retirement reception honoring Dr. Leland Williams for his 16 years of service in the Dickinson Independent School District. Dr. Williams has served as the district's Superintendent since 1995 and was instrumental in the completion of three successful bond issues, increasing the district's fund balance, leading the district to earn its first-ever recognized district achievement this school year, as well as many recognized and exemplary achievements at the campus level. 
The 5th grade Science students at Barber Middle School are working on a cumulative project to showcase their first five weeks of school. The students were asked to design a vessel that was less dense than water, describe its physical properties, and use force to get it across a kiddy pool. The students came up with some amazing ideas and enjoyed putting their ideas into action!
