After today's issue of Gator Bytes, the district will discontinue weekly issues until August. For June and July, Gator Bytes will be emailed out  as needed. We will resume weekly Wednesday issues of Gator Bytes in August.

DHS Class of 2011 graduation a success 

 

gradsDickinson High School had 519 reasons to be proud June 3 as graduates received their diplomas. The ceremony was the largest the district has ever hosted, with both home and visitors stands full of excited family and friends supporting the Class of 2011.

Gator Clinic summer hours

 

The CHRISTUS Gator Aide HOPE Clinic will be open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. during the summer months. The clinic will be set up in the Dickinson High School Nurses' office. Please call ahead for your sports physical, immunizations or injury/illness at 713-598-4149.

 

In most instances, the patient will be seen the same day. The clinic will be closed the week of July 4-7 and tentatively July 21 through August 1.

Hughes Road Elementary hosts family fun day 

  

ptoThe Hughes Road PTO, led by President JoAnne O'Kelley, sponsored a Family Fun Night at the elementary school. Over 900 students, parents, staff, family and community members participated in this free event. Radio station Mix 96.5 provided entertainment through music and games. Refreshments were provided by the PTO and Librarian Pam Bowen provided a book fair in the library. A night of dancing, fun, bonding and reading was enjoyed by all. The staff at Hughes Road Elementary would like to thank Mrs. O'Kelley, pictured here, for her dedication to the staff and students at Hughes Road.

McAdams History Fair winners
  
Congratulations go out to the following students for being honored in McAdams Junior High's History Fair. In the 7th grade competition, Angelo Gomez took home first place. Hailey Willard came in second place, while Madeline DeLeon was third place. In the 8th grade competition, Alec DeLeon won first place and Samantha Bullock finished in second place. Coby Rangel finished in third place and Marshall Kettler was awarded honorable mention.
