Stuff the Bus Food Drive underway through Friday
Dickinson ISD students and staff are busy collecting non-perishable food items as well as monetary donations for the Stuff the Bus Food Drive to benefit the M.I. Lewis Food Pantry. DISD has been hosting this food drive for many years to benefit the food pantry, which serves families throughout the Dickinson ISD boundaries.
This year, in addition to non-perishable food items, monetary donations will be accepted. Through a relationship with the Houston Food Bank, M.I. Lewis is able to purchase $10 worth of food for only $1. For a list of needed non-perishable food items, click here to view the Stuff the Bus flyer. District administrators and students in the Air Force Junior ROTC program at Dickinson High School will travel on school buses throughout the district on the morning of Nov. 15 to collect the food donations.
The food drive began last week and continues through this Friday, Nov. 12. Donations can be dropped off at any DISD campus or at the Dickinson City Hall, which is also collecting items. |
