Information About EnOcean Technology
|
|
EnOcean's simple yet intelligent, self-powered wireless switches and sensors are powered by energy drawn from movement, light or even changes in temperature rather than batteries. This harvested energy is used for transmitting sensor data within a building to control lighting, blinds, heating or air conditioning without the need for cabling. In addition to its eco-friendliness, the technology is easily installed and maintenance-free, ensuring unparalleled flexibility at the lowest investment and operational cost for sustainable buildings.

Greetings! ,
The EnOcean Alliance was originally created by just
seven companies with the aim of establishing EnOcean's energy harvesting
wireless technology as a worldwide standard for sustainable building. Today,
only two and a half years later, we already have more than 160 members and now
a new promoter: Jäger Direkt. This company will actively participate in
achieving international recognition of the EnOcean standard as well as
contributing its innovation and incentive to the organization. Summa summarum
the Alliance has grown by a whole 50 percent in the space of the past 12
months.
I'm convinced that we're heading into a future in
which we can collectively make a decisive imprint. I'd like to invite you to
join us at the 6th Official Members Meeting in Chicago, USA, due to take place
from November 14 through 16 shortly before Greenbuild 2010. Topics to be
discussed include interoperability and connectivity with other systems like
BACnet, LON, KNX, TCP/IP or Ethernet.
Best regards
Graham Martin
Chairman & CEO EnOcean Alliance

Norway: Good Climate with batteryless sensors from Thermokon
The key argument "no Batteries and maintenance
free" convinced to do the total rehabilitation of a 13.400 m² building
complex in Oslo. The old building was rehabilitated to an office complex
providing open and brightly lighted offices. The whole automation enterprise
was planned, built and programmed by SD-Consult Building automation in Norway
using EnOcean-based products from Thermokon.

USA:
Patient-friendly lighting controls
Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dayton uses wireless
lighting controls from ILLUMRA and
increase so comfort for its patients. Managers of a Veterans Affairs Hospital
searched for a solution to provide increased comfort and satisfaction for
patients. The objective was to provide veterans lighting controls that were
easy-to-reach. In addition, the VA Hospital had very strict requirements for
the devices installed in the hospital.

Stradivari, Guarneri and EnOcean
The Glinka State Central Museum of Musical Culture in
Moscow is a unique repository of musical heritage. The museum collects,
preserves, restores and studies musical masterpieces. The collection of the
museum comprises nearly one million exhibits and contains musical instruments
and objects of peoples of the world, including rare Stradivari and Guarneri
violins. EnOcean-enabled devices with management control system from BootUp are now in
place here to ensure the right lighting and temperature.

Leviton: LevNet RF Self-Powered Wireless Light Sensor
The LevNet RF Light Sensor
from Leviton is designed to operate in
closed loop applications for light levels from 0 to 94.8 footcandles (0 to 1020
LUX). This is an innovative product for daylight harvesting applications to
meet energy saving initiatives. Optimally place the sensor in the desired
lighted space, pair it with a LevNet RF receiver for load control and your
installation is complete. The self-powered wireless light sensor design also
overcomes the placement and coverage challenges of traditional light sensors.
They may be mounted wherever needed without moving or installing new wiring or
conduit.
