Information About EnOcean Technology
|
|
EnOcean's simple yet intelligent, self-powered wireless switches and sensors are powered by energy drawn from movement, light or even changes in temperature rather than batteries. This harvested energy is used for transmitting sensor data within a building to control lighting, blinds, heating or air conditioning without the need for cabling. In addition to its eco-friendliness, the technology is easily installed and maintenance-free, ensuring unparalleled flexibility at the lowest investment and operational cost for sustainable buildings.

Greetings!,
As the end of the first year of the EnOcean Alliance approaches, I am very proud of the traction we have achieved. Over 70 leading companies from across the globe joined us within six months of our launch. I would like to specifically thank all involved for the hard work, effort and innovation put into the creation and highly successful launch of the Alliance. Our second official Members Meeting took place mid-November in Boston, confirming our commitment to firmly establish the EnOcean Standard as the leading wireless technology for energy efficient sustainable buildings. I believe that the meeting was highly constructive and informative for all present with numerous proposals and innovative ideas exchanged. We not only had the chance to strengthen personal contacts and ideas amongst the technology users, but also moved the standardization activities as well as educational and promotional platforms significant steps forward. One highlight of the event was the Key Note from Bruce Pelton, engineering manager of the California Lighting Technology Center at UC Davis, about energy efficient technologies and sustainable building projects. Following the two-day meeting, the EnOcean Alliance along with numerous member companies were exhibitors at the prominent U.S. Green Build Expo in Boston. I am looking forward to an exciting new year with numerous new members, project and product announcements on the horizon that will confirm us as the international wireless standard for sustainable buildings.
Best Regards,
Graham Martin Chairman & CEO

Brazil: Touch-Screen Light Controls
Brazilian EnOcean Partner ASP Automação has installed a modern, computer-controlled lighting system at the redesigned Philips showroom in Sao Paulo. The core of the system is built around the "myHomeControl" visualization software, from the Swiss firm BootUp GmbH. "myHomeControl" communicates via a wireless transmitter or receiver connected to the PC. This allows the user to control the entire showroom lighting from a central point, whether that is a central desktop or a mobile tablet PC.

Germany: EnOcean Standard Gains a Foothold in Residential Construction
Since spring 2008, WeberHaus GmbH & Co. KG, a reputed manufacturer of prefabricated houses, has been selling four automation modules to control and monitor lighting and HVAC systems, enabled by EnOcean. The individual automation modules can also be used in combination as required or desired. This allows WeberHaus to not only offer extremely high-quality home automation, but also to generate ecological value-added, since the wireless EnOcean technology allows energy consumption, and therefore also operating costs, to be reduced.
