Critter Camp cares for over 300 unadoptable small pets. These animals are elderly, chronically ill, aggressive, excessively fearful.
We take in animals that are going to be euthanized at "kill" shelters, we take in animals from no-kill shelters that are unadoptable so they can make room for adoptable pets.
Sometimes loving individuals are not able to care for their unusual pets (medical emergencies, economic or living arrangement reason, etc.) and they make special arrangements for them to come here to live and be cared for. If they are able those people donate regularly.

Animals come to us from all over the country. We are located in northern IL but have had pets come from Texas, New York, Florida, Nebraska, etc.

Sometimes we help arrange adoptions between owners needing to rehome their pets and qualified adopters.
We also give educational presentation to thousands of people every year to help them learn about the pets we care for and what to consider before they get any type of pet.

Critter Camp is the ONLY 501c3 volunteer operated USDA licensed sanctuary offering a home specifically to small unusual unadoptable pets other than cats & dogs, that also does not accept wildlife or farm animals.
