New Critter! Yes, another new one!

 

 

Meet Rocky raccoon. Now, we still do not accept wildlife, however Rocky was a house pet that had been purchased from a breeder. He had a happy home living the life of a very spoiled housecat! Unfortunately the economy took its toll on his owner and she lost her home. She could not take him with her and turned him in to the Animal Welfare League in Chicago - one of the largest animal rescues in the country.

They despearately called all over the midwest to find a rescue that is licensed to take a raccoon as a pet- Critter Camp came through as the only one! So Rocky came in on Thursday, hid in the laundry room till Sunday and is venturing about now. He is still very scared and tentative, but he will come around eventually and be the big (50lbs!!) loveable bundle of fur that he was before his world turned upside down. We are in contact with his previous owner and have reassured her that he will be just fine.
