WHAT ARE YOU DOING THURSDAY MORNING?

Holy BibleEvery Thursday at 10:00, we have a special service in the Chapel. It is "special" because you are invited to the Altar Rail for prayers of healing and intercession just before the Peace.  Deacon Lew distributes Communion from the Reserve Sacrament, which is placed in the Aumbry, or Tabernacle after Communion during the Sunday services. A deacon may not Consecrate bread and wine, so the Reserve is used in the same way as the Eucharistic Visitors take Communion out to those who cannot come to church.

These services frequently fall on days set aside to remember specific Saints, or Martyrs of the Church, which means that the homily for that day is a learning experience somewhat different from the usual. The Church we have today is over 2,000 years old, and was handed down to us by people who took it seriously and preserved it for us. So it is fitting that we remember them.

Stay after the service for Deacon Lew's personal, instructive,  even entertaining (!) Bible Study group. Munchies are provided.

DON'T MISS THE LAST SOCIAL HOUR FOR THE SUMMER.

Social HourSaturday, July 7th, immediately following the 5:00p.m. service will be our last Social Hour until October 6th. Have a great summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.

FOOD SUNDAY IS HERE!Lunch Bag

Astonishingly, more than one in four - 27.4 percent - of children in the Treasure Coast are going hungry.

Those of us with means can do something about it.

The Salvation Army feels the pinch even more during these summer months than "in season," as they have the same number of families in need in July as they have in January. This means that they need us more than ever to be generous and thoughtful about those in this community who are in need.

The price of gasoline may be dropping, but food is still as expensive as ever, food stamps don't go as far. Cereals, pasta, rice, beans (canned or dry), and canned veggies are great things we all use. Paper products and soaps are good, too - Food Stamps don't cover them!

Please be extra caring for your neighbors for our July offering to The Salvation Army.
