THE LAST SOCIAL HOUR FOR THE SUMMER.
Saturday, July 7th, immediately following the 5:00p.m. service will be our last Social Hour until October 6th. Have a great summer, and we will see you in the fall.

FOOD SUNDAY IS COMING! This should give you fair warning - Food Sunday will be the weekend of July 7 & 8 - that is a week from this weekend!
The Salvation Army feels the pinch even more during these summer months than "in season," as they have the same number of families in need in July as they have in January. This means that they need us more than ever to be generous and thoughtful about those in this community who are in need.
The price of gasoline may be dropping, but food is still as expensive as ever, so shop for those "BOGO" specials (buy one, get one free) to double your buying power to help the hungry. Pasta, rice, beans (canned or dry), and canned veggies are great things we all use. Paper products and soaps are good, too - Food Stamps don't cover them!
Please be extra caring for your neighbors for our July offering to The Salvation Army.

JUST ANOTHER FRIENDLY REMINDER.
Beginning Monday, July 2nd, the office will close at 3:30p.m. for our summer hours.
We will be closed the whole day on Wednesday, July 4th, in honor of Independence Day. |
ARE YOU RECEIVING THE CENTRAL FLORIDA EPISCOPALIAN?
This is the monthly newspaper from the diocese. If you are not on the mailing list and would like to be, contact the office with your current address and we will forward the information. |

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THURSDAY MORNING?
Every Thursday at 10:00 o'clock, we have a special service in the Chapel. It is "special" because you are invited to the Altar Rail for prayers of healing and intercession just before the Peace. Essentially, in the absence of a rector, Deacon Lew distributes Communion from the Reserve Sacrament which you have seen placed in the Aumbry, or Tabernacle after Communion during our Sunday services. As you know, a deacon may not Consecrate bread and wine, so the Reserve is used just the way we use it when we take Communion out to those who cannot come to church.
These services frequently fall on days set aside to remember specific Saints, or Martyrs of the Church, which means that the homily for that day is a learning experience somewhat different from the usual. The Church we have today is over 2,000 years old, and was handed down to us by people who took it seriously and preserved it for us. So it is fitting that we remember them.
Join us on Thursdays at 10:00 - you'll find these services to be cozy, personal, instructive, and comforting!
