CONSECRATION INVITATION!
Everyone is invited to the Ordination / Consecration of Canon Gregory O. Brewer as Fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Central Florida on Saturday, March 24th!
The last time we had a service like this was in 1990, so this is anything but routine! This memorable and important service will take place at the First Baptist Church in Orlando at 1 pm. This location was chosen because the church can accommodate 5,000 people, and has excellent handicap access. The music will be fantastic, and the reception to follow promises to be terrific, too. Again, all are welcome!
Who will be there? As of March 5th, 24 Bishops from around the country were committed to be with us. Representatives carrying the banners of their respective parishes, and we are expecting people from other faith communities as well as legions of press.
In short, this is a BIG DEAL, and everyone is encouraged to attend it they can. You won't get another chance to participate in a service like this for a long, long time! Yes, there will be plenty of parking available! For car pooling information, please call the Trinity office at (772) 567-1146, and we will see what we can put together!
WHERE? First Baptist Church of Orlando
Orlando, Fl 32805 3000 South John Young Parkway,
WHEN? 1 p.m. Saturday March 24th

EASTER FOOD DRIVE Your might recall that last year, thanks to your generosity, we had a highly successful Easter Food Drive. We'd like to continue that tradition of success this year! Please share your blessings with a needy family by participating this year. Once again, we'll be supporting the work of The Salvation Army. You can pick up a grocery bag and list of suggested non-perishable items in the narthex of the church and in the entry to the chapel. Return your filled grocery bag by the weekend of March 31st/April 1st. We also need contributions to buy the hams, so if you don't want to go grocery shopping, please make a contribution (either cash or check) - envelopes marked "Easter Food Drive" will be provided. Thank you The Outreach Ministry Group

CONFIRMATION CLASSES
On June 10, Bishop Brewer is scheduled to visit us.
At this visit, he will Confirm children and adults who wish to formally become members of The Episcopal Church, and he will officially "Receive" members of the Roman Catholic Church who wish to join our Church.
Deacon Lew will be holding classes to prepare those who wish to be Confirmed or Received, but we obviously need to know who those people are! We anticipate that the classes will be about one hour in length, and will be held during May, with a rehearsal on June 3rd. There will be NO TESTS, but you are expected to learn some things. Adults and children will be in separate classes, of course.
Please call the office to give us your name and contact information if this applies to you, so we can get in touch and begin planning details.
If any wish to be Baptized, we also need to get a move on that, too. Baptism is a requirement for Confirmation. |
