Jason will direct the combined choirs while James Guyer, the Organist and Choirmaster at St. Andrew's, will serve as organist. The service will be preceded by a prelude-recital beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Choral Evensong is one of the oldest and most exquisite services in the Anglican tradition, codified in the first Book of Common Prayer of 1549. In the Preface to the Order of Evensong of King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England, Evensong is described as "a liturgical, architectural, and musical space into which... you may gather the preoccupations and anxieties of your own life and hold them together with a recollections of the God whose acts we celebrate."
A freewill offering will benefit the Music Programs of both churches. |

FOOD SUNDAYS
It is not often that mistakes turn out the yield good news. Last week, however, we made a boo-boo that turned out to give us good news this week! We had reported a collection of 315 pounds of food for The Salvation Army food pantry, but we had forgotten to take the food from the Chapel over to the main church for pickup on Monday. This error was remedied, and the actual total of food is now a whopping 440 pounds! Additionally, you gave a total of $185 in cash and checks for The Salvation Army food pantry to use where there is the greatest need. Yes, cash is always welcome, too. THANK YOU ALL!
