SAFESPACE
A SAFE SHELTER FOR BATTERED WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN
ANNOUNCE "UNDIES SUNDAY" - NOVEMBER 13, 2011
(A date set aside to collect new garments for families living in the Shelter)
SafeSpace, a non-profit charitable organization, would like to partner with the churches in the area to assist the women and children who find it necessary to seek safety in SafeSpace's Shelter.
It is a requirement that they provide each new resident with new undergarments-underwear, socks, pajamas, and slippers. Currently funds are not always available to purchase these items. They are asking that our members contribute to the event they call UNDIES SUNDAY on November 13th 2011. You can place the items that you purchase in the Narthex of the Church or Chapel or if you prefer, you can drop them off at their Thrift Shoppe in the K-Mart Shopping Plaza on US1 in Vero Beach.
HARVEST DINNER
Let's gather together for food and fellowship on Sunday, November 20th at 6:00 p.m. A barbeque dinner will be served and a song or two of thanksgiving will be sung as we reflect on our many blessings. Please call the church office to make your reservation by Tuesday, November 15th. If you would like to help with this event, please call Audrey Richey (home) 567-7867 or (cell) 766-3844.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
You might recall that over the last several years, thanks to your generosity, we have had highly successful Thanksgiving Food Drives. We'd like to continue that tradition of success this year!
Please share your blessings with a needy family by participating this year. Once again, we'll be supporting the work of The Salvation Army. You can pick up a grocery bag and list of suggested non-perishable items in the narthex of the church and chapel. Return your filled grocery bag by the weekend of November 19 & 20. We also need help in buying the turkeys, so if you don't want to go grocery shopping, please make a contribution (either cash or check) - envelopes will be provided.
Thank you,
The Outreach Ministry Group
