FOOD SUNDAY REPORT
The Salvation Army reports to us that your gifts of food totaled 360 pounds.
We also received $75.00 toward food.
Thank you for your generosity!
IT'S THE ECONOMY, SMARTY!
In shopping for Food Sunday, we watch the sales and the coupons in the paper. This week, Publix ran a BOGO on Ragu. In the newspaper, there was a coupon for "free" (up to $1.75) pasta if you bought two jars of Ragu. So we bought two jars of Ragu and a 1-lb. bag of noodles, getting a rebate of $1.75 on the noodles. (If we had bought a pound of spaghetti, it would have been free.) Here is the arithmetic:
Ragu : $2.75 Effective Cost: $2.75 Ragu Special: $0 (2nd jar free) " " $0 Noodles (1 lb) $2.29 Rebate $1.75 $0.54
Value $5.04 Cost $3.29
As you see, with just a little effort, you can make food dollars go a LONG way!

OCTOBER BLANKET COLLECTION Please join in our annual collection of new/slightly used blankets and/or outerwear that is distributed to those who are in need the county and beyond. Our distribution from Trinity will be The Source. Trinity's Episcopal Church Women (ECW) coordinate this project under auspices of Church Women United of Indian River County (CWU). Also, monies donated are sent to missions that provide tools and means for encouraging self-help within the world. Containers for blankets/outerwear will be in the narthex and you may also deliver your donations to the receptionist area in the office. Contributions of monies should be payable to Church Women United with memo line of Annual Blanket Collection. Thank you, again, for your continued support. Doris Mattingly EW President WITH MUSIC IN MIND Regular rehearsals of the Trinity Episcopal Choir are on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Music Building. The Trinity Choir always welcomes new members. The Trinity Handbell Choir is in need of additional members. We need to add two new members in order to ring two-octave music. But we have room for many more - and many more bells - four octaves! In order to ring three-octave music, we would need to add six new members; for four-octave music, ten new members. Please consider joining this enjoyable and gratifying music ministry of Trinity. The ability to read music is helpful but not required.
Until we have enough members for a viable ensemble, Handbell Choir rehearsals are unfortunately on hiatus. This does not mean we're giving up. Our next goal is to have an ensemble prepared to play for Christmas Eve, with rehearsals reconvening at the end of October: Wednesday, 26 October at 6:00 p.m. in the Music Building. Please join us!
If you are interested in either the Trinity Episcopal Choir or the Trinity Handbell Choir, please contact Organist and Choirmaster Jason Hobratschk: jhobratschk@trinityvero.org or 584-1035.
THURSDAY EUCHARIST AND HEALING Come join Fr. Jacobs every Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Chapel for the Eucharist and Healing service followed by his Bible Study in the Media Center at 11:00 AM. The topic for discussion is American religious groups and their beliefs. Coffee and treats will be provided. ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL Adults now have two choices for classes on Sundays at 9:00 am. Classes will be held in the Media Center and the Conference Room in the administration building. Fr. Jacobs will teach an Enquirer's Class for anyone new to Trinity or the Episcopal faith. It also serves as a great refresher course for long- time Episcopalians. The class will run through the beginning of Advent when a new class will begin. The second class for adults is a discussion of denominations and other faiths looking at the differences and similarities among Christian faiths and the various Protestant denominations. It will also consider the beliefs of Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses followed by a brief look at religions from other parts of the world. YOUTH GROUP Calling all Middle and High School youth! The newly-formed Trinity Episcopal Youth Group will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Youth Building. Bring a friend! We'll watch a movie and Toni Houdyshell will lead a discussion. Don't miss out on this exciting, brand-new program! PASTORAL CARE If you or someone you know is ill, in the hospital or hospice, or a shut-in, please be sure to contact the church office and let us know so that we visit and minister to you. Your pastoral care team visited 25 members or friends of Trinity in the month of September and 7 in the first week of October. |
