EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY

Education for Ministry, is a distance learning theological education program of the School of Theology at the University of the South, will be offered for the second year at Trinity beginning in the fall. Participants commit one year at a time to meet regularly in seminars led by a trained mentor during which participants study the Old and New Testaments, Church history, theology and ethics. *

The purpose of EFM is to provide a comprehensive, experiential education in the foundations and message of our Christian faith to the laity of the church. Many desire to increase their knowledge of the Christian heritage. Some want to continue their Christian formation or they wish to prepare for special lay ministries.

Each group of six to twelve students is led by a mentor and meets weekly to reflect theologically, discuss the material they have read, and worship together. Students follow a weekly lesson and study guide. No papers or tests are given.  You receive what you invest in terms of reading and study.

For more information, contact Fr. Jacobs at 772-567-1146, who will be the mentor for EFM groups. He has been involved with EFM as a student and mentor since 1991.

WITH MUSIC IN MIND:

The Trinity Episcopal Choir will take a well-deserved vacation in the month of August. Regular choir rehearsals will resume on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Music Building. The Trinity Choir always welcomes new members.

The Trinity Handbell Choir will resume rehearsals on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Trinity is hoping to grow this enjoyable and gratifying music ministry and is looking for additional members. The ability to read music is helpful but not required.

If you are interested in either theTrinity Episcopal Choir or the Trinity Handbell Choir, please contact Organist and Choirmaster Jason Hobratschk:

jhobratschk@trinityvero.org or 584-1035.

PASTORAL CARE

If you or someone you know is ill, in the hospital or hospice, or a shut-in, please be sure to contact the church office and let us know so that we visit and minister to you.

Your pastoral care team visited 28 members or friends of Trinity in the month of July and 12 in the first week of August.

ROSE BYRON

Rose Byron, our housekeeper, is the excited new owner of a Habitat House, and will be moving into her home in September.  Because Rose and her 3 children have been living at the Samaritan Center shelter, the family is starting housekeeping from "scratch".  Everything is needed:  furniture, all kitchen supplies (dishes, pots & pans, utensils, etc.), sheets, towels, blankets, lamps - the list just keeps going.  If you have any household items that will help Rose and her children set up housekeeping, please call Marie at the Church office to coordinate.  Everything will be most appreciated!
