DR. TONY CAMPOLO TO SPEAK HERE

Dr. Tony Campolo - Philadelphia native, professor, preacher, humanitarian, and humorist - will offer his unique blend of theology and humor here at Trinity on Friday, February 25, at 7:00pm in the Great Hall.

Christianity Today named him among the most influential preachers in the last half century, and he has been considered by Time Magazine as one of America's best preachers.

I have heard him speak several times in central Florida over the past two decades, and it is rare to find a speaker with the exuberant combination of acerbic wit and Christian charity. Light refreshments will be offered, a $10.00 donation is suggested, and all are welcome!

INAUGURAL CHORAL EVENSONG

On Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 4:00 p.m., the Trinity Episcopal Choir will offer a Service of Choral Evensong.  Organist & Choirmaster Jason Hobratschk will direct the Trinity Choir, and Organist & Choirmaster Emeritus Donald Ingram will serve as organist. Choral Evensong is one of the oldest and most exquisite services in the Anglican tradition, codified in the first Book of Common Prayer of 1549.  In it, we, through the voice of the choir and through our own, sing praise to God.

Trinity's inaugural Choral Evensong will feature Psalm 150 chanted to the captivating Anglican chant by Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and T. Tertius Noble exciting Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B minor.  Additionally, the choir will sing anthems by Richard Shephard, Jason Hobratschk, David Mennicke, and Simon Lindley.

Evensong will be preceded by a half-hour organ recital-prelude commencing at 3:30 p.m.  Jason Hobratschk will serve as organist for the recital.

A freewill offering will benefit the Trinity Episcopal Church Music Program, and a reception will follow in the Great Hall.  You are most cordially invited to attend - and to bring a friend!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY

Susan Niederriter has generously offered to spearhead a new ministry to members in need of a little help - such as visits to shut-ins, a meal brought to their home following surgery, etc. Please call Susan at 388-9695 to become a part of this rewarding, practical ministry. No experience required; just love.

MEDICAL CLOSET

We want to remind you that we have a lending closet with a variety of medical devices available to use. This closet includes walkers, crutches, shower chairs, bedside commodes, and such durable equipment.

There is NO REASON TO BUY when you can borrow for free - so if you're facing knee or hip surgery, ask us if we have what you need!

Likewise, if you no longer need that wheelchair or whatever it is, we'd be delighted to be the go-between so that someone in need can find it!

MEMORIAL FLOWERS

Flowers adorn the chapel and church altars by the generosity of our parishioners. Often we have dates which have not been reserved, though flowers are still provided, which depletes the altar guild budget. We have posted flower charts in the narthex of the church and chapel and we encourage you to fill any date that is blank with your name and phone number (you may choose more than one date). Our office finance secretary, Diane Steinke, will then contact you regarding payment and your wishes to honor or memorialize loved ones.

THURSDAY ADULT BIBLE STUDY - THE SCREWTAPE LETTERS

Adult Bible study in the parish media center continues on Thursdays following the 10:00 AM Holy Eucharist/Healing Service. The Subject will be The Screwtape Letters - listening to (the great British comedian ) John Cleese's dramatic narration of the C.S. Lewis classic, and led by Fr. Jacobs. All materials will be provided; no preparation is necessary; and refreshments will be offered. Please come and bring a friend to experience this darkly satirical, comedic masterpiece of Christian fiction.
