The WLTC Packer is a packer that is modified from the WLTC Retrievable Bridge Plug and can be quickly converted to run and set on wireline. It is designed to be rugged and compact.
When run on tubing the WLTC can be set deep or shallow because the packing element system can be energized with compression or tension. This packer will withstand high differential pressures from above or below. Activated slips are always on the low-pressure side with the WLTC design, ensuring that a tight pack-off is maintained.
Standard equipment on the WLTC Packer includes tungsten carbide-tipped slips and drag-blocks, which are long-lasting and allow for easy setting in the hardest casings. This packer can be run directly on tubing, with an equalizing valve, or on wireline.
The WLTC Packer is available in the following sizes: 4 ½", 5 ½" and 7"
Examples of Application:
The WLTC Packer can be run with the Kline Pressure Balanced Equalizing Valve. This results in a solid element bridge plug that can be equalized prior to retrieval.
The WLTC Packer is ideal for use when an extra rugged packer is needed and the I.D. requirement can be smaller than the tubing I.D. The I.D. is large enough for pumping rods to pass through.
The WLTC Packer is also ideal for horizontal applications as it can be run in tension as well as compression. This is a good solution when you can't get enough compression to pack-off the elements completely.
