Cure thy children's warring madness, Bend our pride to thy control; Shame our wanton selfish gladness, Rich in things and poor in soul. -Heny Emerson Fosdick Today, we celebrate Memorial Day. We remember those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms, as well as remember our troops stationed in more than seventy countries. Plato remarked, "Only the dead have seen an end to war". Sad, but true. Historian, Will Durant, has lamented that in all of human history, "only twenty-nine years can be described as free of war - and of all the centuries, the Twentieth set the record for bloodletting". And what will this century hold? Only trust a sad soldier, goes the saying. So on this day, please join me in a prayer that soon, yes very soon, the war in Afghanistan will end. In faith,

Pastor Tim
