A NOTE FROM PASTOR TIM

All The Lonely People

Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice in the church where the wedding has been, lives in a dream,

Waits at the window wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for?

All the lonely people, where do they all come from?

All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

This is Labor Day weekend - for many it is either a "day off" or an "unscheduled day" which means it would be a good day for you to call/visit someone who is lonely. There are many people in Lee County for whom loneliness is a crushing problem. And not only here in SW Florida; Dr. James Lynch of Johns Hopkins University (A Broken Heart) makes the case that one in every four Americans, at this very moment, feels alone and lonely, feels cut off from intimacy and critical connection with others.

The words to the song Eleanor Rigby haunt me...This week, please make a difference in the life of a lonely person!

In faith,

9-11 REMEMBRANCE

All of us can remember where we were and what we were doing on September 11, 2001. As we mark the tenth anniversary of that fateful day, we will have a time of remembrance at the 8:15, 9:30 and 11:00 Worship services on Sunday, September 11. The Southwest Florida Handbell Ensemble will be our guest musicians and play "Prayer for Peace" by Michael Helman, which is dedicated to the memory of all who lost their lives that day. A slide presentation has been created to coordinate with the music. Be sure to be with us as we take a few moments to remember and pray for world peace.

TEACHER DEDICATION

There will be a Teacher Dedication on Sunday, September 11. Sunday School teachers and guides for all ages are invited to our 9:30 A.M. worship service to be a part of this dedication. Please be in the Sanctuary by 9:25 a.m.
