Discipleship,
Not Admiration
My favorite theologian (Soren Kierkegaard, Training in Christianity, 1850) attacked the notion that one becomes a Christian by accepting a set of arguments. Believing that Jesus was raised from the dead or accepting the creedal positions of the church does not make you a Christian.
Christianity is incarnation; it is not so much about believing as it is following Him, trusting Him, and doing what He tells us to do.
Today, the day after we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us remember that Jesus calls us not to admiration but to discipleship.
In faith,

Pastor Tim

Prayer: O loving God, to turn away from you is to fall, to turn toward you is to rise, and to stand before you is to abide forever. Grant us, dear God, in all our duties your help, in all our uncertainties your guidance, in all our dangers your protection, and in all our sorrows your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. |
