Sin Boldly! Believe Boldly! Act Boldly!
Martin Luther had a friend, Philip Melanchthon, who by temperament was a very cautious person. At the height of one of the many religious controversies that formed the Reformation, Luther saw that Melanchthon was so concerned about doing something wrong that he did nothing. Luther wrote his friend:
"If you are a preacher of grace, then preach a true and not fictitious grace. If grace is true, you must bear a true, and not a fictitious sin. God does not save people who are only fictitious sinners. Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly; for he is victorious over sin, death and the world."
Do not be afraid of failure! This week, for Christ's sake do something bold, something strong, something daring.
