The 9:18

"Be prepared for changes in music. The bigger the church, the more young people in worship, the greater will be the need to have music that speaks to them."
Lyle Schaller, 10 Emerging Trends of the 1990's

What is the 9:18?
It is a new, fourth worship service that Faith will launch in the Faith Center on September12th at - you guessed it, 9:18 a.m. Why 9:18? In Luke's Gospel (Chapter 9, verse 18,) Jesus asks the question,"...who do people say that I am?"

Why the new service?
We are designing this service to reach the un-churched - the single Mom who sends her child to our day care, the families that have sent their children to our basketball and soccer clinics, the young person who is not attracted to traditional forms of worship. (Note:This new service will not replace or change any of our current worship services; I repeat:the 8:15, 9:30, and 11 a.m. worship services continue as they are.)

Why now?
We found the right person, Tom Hafer, to be the worship leader. Tom has served as a youth pastor, Chaplain (he will be with us part-time and will continue his work at Gulf Coast Village),author, conference leader, father, husband, and 'on-fire Christian.' Tom has a unique skill-set, and I believe God has called him to this ministry.

Mission Update ...
Thank you!  As a result of our recent Diaper Drive, Wilson Wheeler and Dick Negley drove two truckloads (more than 15,000 diapers) to Immokalee. Thank you, too, for more than $1,700 contributed to our youth so that they could buy building supplies to assist in their recent mission trip to West Virginia (and thanks to Joel Barnett, Mike Bicknese, Kevin Shriner, and Nancy Exline for being chaperones for the trip).
