Gratitude
"The Lord willing and the river doesn't rise," (or should I say, "The Lord willing and the volcanoes are silent") as you read this, Martha and I will be in Oberammergau, site of a passion play that traces its roots back to 1634. It was during the 'Thirty Years War' and the outbreak of the Black Plague (a plague contracted by one of every three Europeans and killing millions) that a small village in south Germany was spared. To show God their gratitude, they enacted a 'passion play,' which continues to be re-enacted every ten years. So a thought on gratitude...we don't have to wait until Thanksgiving to share thanks! See you Sunday in worship. |

A Father's Day Quote "By the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he's wrong."
Charles Wadsworth
And from Coach John Wooden "Be more concerned with you character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are." |
