This morning, a child is in the process of spiritual formation; someday the child may become known as a "saint or as a terrorist," so argues Dallas Willard ( Renovation of the Heart: Putting on the Character of Christ, 2002). As our concern is to contribute to the growing of saints, we can ask what influences the "inner world of the human self, in such a way that they become like the inner being of Christ himself" (Willard). Please accept my invitation to the next six weeks of Tuesdays Together (6:30 Tuesday, repeated Wednesday at 10 AM) to 'Rediscover the Christian Life.' In these sessions we will be exploring our life in faith - how is Christ formed within us? Tuesday night begins with a discussion of being "born again." St. Paul describes the Christian life as a return from exile to homecoming with God - a journey that begins with our being 'in Christ' (a term he uses 165 times). The journey continues...those unable to attend can check it out on the web site ( www.fatihcapecoral.org). |
