IMPORTANT: SCHEDULE CHANGE!

Due to the prevailing drought in this area of Indiana a burn ban has been established prohibiting all fires include fireworks.  Because of this the Culver Summer Camps will not have a fireworks display at this time. However, there will be a 4th of July program beginning at 8:30 pm, EST.

Thank you for sharing your young people with us this summer. Our goal is for each camper to have a fun-filled and meaningful summer.

 

 If you have questions concerning your son's or daughter's progress this summer, please contact the person most directly associated with the area of concern. Our telephone system allows you to dial each individual directly.   

  

 If you have questions concerning overall adjustment and progress, permits, housing, or general activity and participation, please call your son's or daughter's senior counselor or assistant counselor. They are the people most closely associated with your camper.

Finally, we encourage you not to call your son or daughter--write instead! Young people look forward eagerly each day to receiving mail from home.

 

HEAT ADVISORY PROCEDURE
As the summer progresses, temperatures will continue to climb. We take many steps to ensure that all campers stay hydrated throughout their daily activities. Water coolers are available at sporting events, additional free swims in the lake are added, and certain activities are planned to keep the campers cool. If you have any questions about our heat procedures please call the Summer Camp office at (574) 842-8300.
FIRST PERMIT WEEKEND

 

If you plan to visit next weekend, please prepare to visit Saturday, July 7 and/or Sunday, July 8. Visitation is discouraged on Friday, July 6.

 

If you plan to visit Saturday or Sunday, prepare to spend time both on campus and off campus. You will have the opportunity to attend classes, athletic competitions, religious services, and much more. View the daily schedules of Woodcraft Camp and/or Upper Camp on the Summer Camp Daily Bulletin for a list of activities and times for each day.

 

Both camps will run as normal during the weekend and we invite you as our guest to observe your child during our on-campus activities. Please note that there is no set schedule for parents, except for Permit time. You may arrive and attend what you like at any point during the weekend.

 

WOODCRAFT CAMP PERMIT TIMES
Saturday: 3:30 - 8:00pm (Council Fire Participants must be back by 6:45pm)
Sunday: 12:30 - 6:30pm (Drum & Bugle must be back by 6:00pm)

 

UPPER CAMP PERMIT TIMES
Saturday: 3:15 - 10:30pm
Sunday: 11:45 - 6:00pm

 


WHAT EVENTS CAN PARENTS ATTEND ?  


Woodcraft Council Fire - Saturday - 9:00pm - Council Ring

All Woodcrafters attend this event, whether they are in the audience or taking a role in the performance. All Woodcrafters and guests are asked not to talk while in the Council Ring area. After the performance, Woodcrafters will form in their units and return to camp. Portable Restrooms are available behind stage. Optimal Parking is available off of State Road 10 at the Gable Tennis Complex. Security will guide you. Afterwards, Woodcrafters will return to their cabins and prepare for bed.

Garrison Parade - Sunday - 8:00pm - Riding Hall Terrace
View the most powerful scene of Culver Summer Schools & Camps, with over 1,380 campers from 40 states and 40 countries. Campers form as a regiment to showcase the leadership, diversity, and history as an institution. Restrooms available in or near the Vaughn Equestrian Center entrance. Water and items for sun block encouraged.

HOMECOMING WEEKEND
Homecoming weekend this year will take place July 20-22. This year we will be celebrating the 100th year of the Woodcraft Camp. Please visit the Summer Daily Bulletin to register for Homecoming Weekend and the Centennial Celebration as well as see the special schedule. If you have any questions about this weekend please call the Summer Camp office at (574) 842-8300.

CAN I TAKE MY CAMPER ON OVERNIGHT LEAVE ?
No overnight leaves will be granted for any camper. All campers must stay in their living areas each night during the weekend. We appreciate your willingness to cooperate with our policies.

 

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN CULVER ? 
View the weekend's weather in Culver and plan accordingly. Keep in mind that times and locations may change to work around the weather. Please contact Woodcraft or Upper Camp headquarters with any further questions.
