More Protection of Government Benefits from Garnishment

A new U.S. Department of Treasury rule is welcome news for retirees, veterans and persons with disabilities.
Beginning May 1, 2011, when the rule took effect, benefits like Social Security (retirement and disability), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Veterans and other federal benefits, are much safer in bank accounts from the reach of creditors.
