Mark Hopkins Sculpture Graces Hobbs State Park Visitor Center Philanthropic Couple Makes Timeless Donation
Hobbs State Park celebrated the opening of its $5 Million Visitor Center this past Wednesday, May 27th.
Thanks to the generosity of a Springdale couple, who wish to remain anonymous, Mark Hopkin's Soaring will be on display in the Visitors Center for the enjoyment of generations to come!
The couple is quite familiar with Mark's sculpture, and they have also done very significant volunteer work for the new Hobbs Visitor Center. Noting that the Center celebrated the diversity of wildlife in the State Park, but had no display to highlight its perhaps most regal resident, they felt Soaring had to represent the Park's Bald Eagle population!
Hobbs State Park, at over 12,000 acres, is Arkansas' largest State Park. It has a rich history, both natural and human. The park is a relatively new addition to the system, with land being principally acquired in 1987, and, until now, being relatively undeveloped. But all that is about to change, with the opening of the Visitor's Center and ambitious plans for campgrounds, cabins, and additional facilities.
We encourage our friends to visit Hobbs while in the area and look for Soaring while they are there! Hobbs Visitor Center is located about 30 miles southwest of Eureka Springs and 15 miles east of Rogers on Arkansas Hwy. 12. For more information, see their web site here.

Welcome to the new Hobbs State Park Visitor Center!
Brand new and full of interactive displays!
Can't open a building without a ribbon cutting ceremony!

Sold-Out / Retired Sculpture Spotlight: Searching The Serengeti by Mark Hopkins Did you know that 83 Spring Street Gallery has the largest collection of Mark Hopkins retired and sold-out sculpture available anywhere?
This month we spotlight Searching The Serengeti, which was originally cast in July of 1999, and retired in June of 2006. Only 35 of the 550 edition size were cast. This sculpture measures approximately 19" high by 12" wide.
From Mark: "At last, the drought is ending. The rains have come again. From the distance, the pounding of hoofbeats signals the return of the herds. Though their ears do not yet hear the sound, these lions feel the slight trembling of the earth. Watchful eyes search the horizon. Soon enough, the plains will fill again with the challenge of the hunt!"
Please call us at 888-215-1969 for a current price on this sculpture.
If you haven't browsed our selection of sold-out and retired Mark Hopkins pieces recently, it really is quite impressive! See it here on our website.
