Greetings from EnDevor Recruiting and we hope our newsletter finds you all well. The first quarter of 2010 was a busy one for us, with improving 'signs of life' in our industry. While the economic indicators continue to show the US Economy in a funk, we increasingly see reasons for positivity and hope on the upswing. We have been tasked with more search assignments this past quarter year over year and the direction and outlook from our smaller to mid-size client companies is one of tentative and measured optimism. While there has been great consolidation, turmoil and a resulting purge in general headcount over the last year and a half, we are noticing that the momentum is swinging back.
The Great Recession has had a negative impact on everyone, and there are still many talented people out of work. It will take many more months to get back to where we were in 2008. However, we tend to focus on the positive and our clients are backfilling old positions lost in the downturn and creating new ones.
Healthcare Reform
The events of the last 3 months, in terms of the way the larger Bio-Pharmaceutical industry will be affected by Congress and its sweeping healthcare reform can be interpreted in many ways--and it's much too early now and the changes too broad for anyone to make a definitive call right now. However, and most importantly for Biotech, the patent protections on brand name biologics will remain intact and with the new insurance requirements there will be a much wider pool of potential patients and customers to sell to. Of course, time will ultimately tell if this will have a positive effect on the pharmaceutical and biotech industries in the long term.
Changes at EnDevor Recruiting
We have made significant changes to our website for our clients and candidates ease of use. Under our 'Resume Submittal' tab, we have built in the capability for candidates to submit their information and Resumes/CV's into our database for upcoming opportunities. You no longer need to apply to a specific position in order for us to keep your information up to date. This is a great way to be recognized for opportunities that arise in the future. Of course, all information that is provided remains confidential until we receive your approval to release it to hiring authorities. We have also included a 'Resources' tab that contains informative articles and tips that will be updated on a regular basis.
