Greetings!
 
We survived 2008 (some barely) and are on to a brand new year full of possibilities. Here is hoping that you are off to a great start and that those resolutions aren't too hard to keep!  
 
Things seemed to slow a bit in December but a few more homes actually closed than in November!  In Fullerton, Anaheim, Brea, Placentia and Yorba Linda combined, there was a total of 379 closed sales in December.
 
December  of 2007 only had 213 closed.  We are not quite doubling the numbers for this time a year ago, but volume is still up. 
 
So what am I seeing?  First time home buyers are realizing that it is within their means to become home owners.  With home prices coming down, low interest rates, and tax credits, many are seeing that they can own a home for just a bit more or about the same as renting. Oftentimes we can even have sellers help with closing costs!  
 
Newsletter content - If there is anything special you would like to see here?  My goal is to keep you informed with tidbits about the market and other local information. So far the feedback has been very good but it could always be better, right?

Donation Update- Tina Maraj and I spent a good portion of December collecting donations.   Many have asked how we did and I am so excited to announce that we collected over 1,500 pounds of food!  It was donated to WTLC and FIES (Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Services).  We also collected a whole truck (well a Ford Ranger worth) full of baby items for Crittenton.  It felt so good and they were so grateful!
 
We could not have done it without all of your generous donations! Thank you for helping us to help our neighbors!
