Old Blue Video PLAY VIDEO

 

Do you love to sing the song "Old Blue" with your children? How about adding a little guitar? In this 5-minute video, a Music Together teacher demonstrates an easy way to play "Old Blue" on the guitar. The simple, one-chord technique is perfect for beginners. Follow along and you'll be strumming out the tune for your child in no time! (Need a refresher on the words? Check out page 38 of your Triangle songbook.)

How does a child learn first to understand language and then to speak it? How does he or she learn to hear music and then express it?

My son really enjoys those short patterns that are sometimes spoken or sung on the CD or in class. I can see that they grab his attention and he likes to repeat them, but I'm a little confused as to what they are and why we do them. Do they have a purpose?

When we make music---in our homes, in our schools, in our communities---we are sharing an intrinsic part of ourselves that is indescribable. No one understands this better than Jonathan and Ellen Young, who share music as a way to honor the memory of their daughter Casey.
