Greetings!

Your Christian Education Action Group hopes you had an enjoyable summer!  We are looking forward to reuniting with your children and touching their lives as we teach them, support them, and watch them grow.

We have exciting initiatives that will be happening this year and ask for your support and feedback as we try some new things.

We welcome Wayne Gilpin to Westminster as Minister of Music.  Please take a moment to say hello and offer a smile to our newest church family member.

As you will read in our Congregational E-Letter later this week, Sunday School and the Youth Group resume THIS SUNDAY!  That's right!  September 13th.  Along with Sunday School registration AND a party... There's more!  There is a short congregational meeting AND a welcome back BBQ on Sunday.  We hope to see everyone there so we can check in with you to see how your summer went.  And with technology comes ease; you can now register your child(ren) online!  Click here to register  (Note: JAMM begins September 20th)

As well, on September 27th, there will be a Blessing of the Animals service. It is an intergenerational service where everyone is welcome to bring their pets to church for a blessing.  If you think bringing Rover may be too much, or don't have a pet at home, bring a stuffie to church for a blessing. It is a wonderful community event and you're encouraged to share information with your friends and neighbours to attend.

We are always in need of more volunteers.  Whether you want to teach or help out with craft time, or play a supportive role in the Youth Group, please get in touch with our Facilitator, Karen Farace... even if you merely want to observe a session to see what it's all about.  Remember that Christian Education isn't just limited to Children... we appreciate the help of many hands to do all that we do.  If you have a specific talent and would like to share it with the group, please let us know.

Your Membership & Pastoral Care Action Group have ordered agendas for children and youth of all ages.  These resources are absolutely free and you are encouraged to take one per child.  They are almost identical to the ones offered through the school board, but encourage devotional time and scripture reading.

Read on for other upcoming events...

Westminster's Youth Gathering (Grades 9 and up)

We've got the food.  We've got the games.
We've planned for fun, but we're missing YOU!
You're invited to be a big part of Westminster's Youth Gathering

When: Wednesday, September 16th
Where:  247 Broadway - Westminster United (Auditorium)
Time:  From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
(With pizza provided)

And... you'll really want to bring a friend!
Santa Claus is coming to town on November 21st and we need some people to be on our float!  Our theme this year is simple... a manger scene.  We need some folks to dress up like Mary & Joseph, Jesus, 3 wise men and others to hand out candy canes.  If you're interested in taking part, please contact Janet Jones.  Mark the date now and reserve your spot.  As always, pizza is provided to all participants before the parade starts... and hot chocolate and cookies wait at the church when the parade is over.

Westminster United Church Adopts a Road!
On Saturday, September 26th, members and friends of Westminster United Church will gather to clean up Riddell Road.  Our section is from Broadway to Centennial.  If you are interested in this earthly venture, please add your name and phone number to the list in the office.  Parents please note that one adult needs to be present for every two people under the age of 19.  More details about the details will be online at www.westminsterorangeville.ca soon. Youth volunteer hours could be accumulated through these cleanup events.
