Greetings!
July 10, 2008
Rev. Sandra Keeps in touch.........!
"The Story is told of a South American tribe that went on a long march, day after day, when all of a sudden they would stop walking, sit down to rest for awhile, and then make a camp for a couple of days before going any further. They explained that they needed the time of rest so that their souls could catch up with them".
Excerpt from Sabbath by Wayne Muller

"He makes me lie down in green pasture;
He leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul".
Twenty Third Psalm

 Garden Party This Saturday...  Tickets still available. Please call Tanya
938-8284... Appetizers and entrees at each home, culminating with strawberry shortcake, blueberry cheesecake and lemon meringue pie at Steve and Darlene's while Steve answers your horticulture questions... A casual, low-key time of learning more about gardening.

 Vacation Bible School has been running this week at the church. We expected 25 children and we have consistently had close to 40!!!  WOW!
Thanks to everyone for offering their time in leadership of this important work with children. This is a wonderful boost for Westminster's presence in the community. Many new families have entered our doors for the first time! Congratulations to the Christian Education Action Group.

Many exciting things are planned for the Fall... a welcome back bar-b-q, a blessing of the animals service... a memorial hymn sing, the hanging of a beautiful banner, the continued work at our sound system, our annual stewardship campaign, just to mention a few. We will welcome Mary Elizabeth Piercy, a student studying for diaconal ministry within the United Church of Canada. Her 12 hour student placement in the area of pastoral care will be spent between our congregation and Headwaters Chaplaincy. In the fall the Board will present the recommended mission and vision document to the congregation. In order to complete the sound requirements for our sanctuary there will be a comprehensive document presented to the congregation with the costs involved in the next phase of this project.
This has been a year of hard work and tremendous prayer.
Thanks to everyone for your continued support.

Please remember that church expenses continue over the summer.
Stewardship doesn't take a holiday!!!
