Thank you Westminster Congregation and friends for choosing to walk Holy Week with us. The attendance at our Sunday worship services was very encouraging. Thanks to all who made the season of Lent meaningful and sacred. Now we are celebrating the 50 days of Easter. All scriptures will reflect the experiences of Jesus and His followers as they seek to continue sharing the teachings of Jesus in a post-resurrection period. WE live in a post resurrection period too. Christians in each generation need to interpret the scripture and live the faith relevant to the times in which one lives. The principle teachings of the Bible are timeless. Jesus grew up hearing the words of the prophets and in His ministry fulfilled many of their prophecies. Now it is our task to carry on "Spreading the Good News". One of the prophecies that Jesus lived was "To seek justice, love kindness and to walk humbly with God". If we see scripture as only a theory and not a faith to be lived, the Good News becomes stale news. Over the next few weeks. Try and live in the Spirit of resurrection hope. In your relationships at home, at work, at school seek justice, love kindness and humble yourself. Be prepared things will change. Things that perhaps needed to change. Let us live as people of the resurrection where God's Spirit guides, leads, challenges, protects and defends.

Our focus scripture this week is Luke 24:13-35 give it a read before Sunday.

See you in church

Rev. Sandra

PULPIT EXCHANGE POSTPONED:

The pulpit exchange this Sunday between Rev. Self from Tweedsmuir Presbyterian and Rev. Sandra from Westminster will be postponed to a later date.
There have been two deaths of members of the Tweedsmuir congregation this week and Rev. Self felt that he needed to be with his congregation this Sunday as they mourn the loss of those whom they value and love. Out prayers are with them all.

"Going...going...Gone. Sold to the gentleman over here."  That statement was heard over and over Sunday March 30th as members of the congregation came together to share food laughter and bid on each other.  A good time was had by all at our Second Annual Talent Auction.  We are gifted with the number of talented people we have here at Westminster.  Thanks to all who participated, together we raised $2215.00 in about an hour! Amazing!

So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Joshua 6:20

John 21:13

Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.
