NOCCCD BUDGET CENTRAL
|
November 6, 2012 Ballot: Proposition 30
If Governor Brown's tax initiative passes in November:
- Community colleges would receive $210 million in additional funds in 2012-13. Passage of the measure would make room for an additional 20,000 students.
- NOCCCD would receive $1.5 million to restore funds depleted by previous budget cuts.
If the initiative fails:
- Community colleges would be cut by another $338 million in the middle of the academic year, which translates into 180,000 fewer students.
- The mid-year cut for NOCCCD is $9,954,696 which is an 8.39% reduction in state funding. NOCCCD would face a reduction in available class seats of over 7% and a total student reduction of 4,784.
