How alike are wonders and miracles? Besides the fact that they never cease?
No sooner did I get done reporting on the abysmal luck I'd been having with my models, when 3 girls show up out of nowhere--Totally Reliable. Go ahead and read those last two words, like I just did. You'll feel like breaking into the Yowza song. Sure, next week they may flake big time and never show up again, but for right now I'm gonna bask in it as long as I can. Who are these girls that finally made the grade, you ask? Since you asked...
The first, a knockout redhead, posed for the recent Gwen and Mary Jane piece you may have seen online. The next girl (two points short of mensa status, I swear) posed for a 3-hour figure drawing session, her intelligence easily the equal of her chest size--triple D; and the final girl, an oriental chick, posed for a pastel painting that we'll post soon. That's 3 girls--3 weeks in a row--that haven't shafted me and seem to possess more intelligence than all the other rejects put together. Anyone besides me sense a pattern here?
Of equal importance to the Main Man/ Mr. Humility, besides keeping my drawing skills sharp, is the fact that meeting these models helps draw artists like me out of Hermit mode and begins to get me social again. Everyone knows that artists don't speak to actual, real people for 3 years at a time, emerging only for beef jerky and beer, so for me it's like a re-awakening to see if my jaw and brain muscles still function.
Let's raise our glasses, beer and jerky in hand--it's time for the Yowza song.
Yours in miracles and wonder,
The Humble Dude
