The
other day I was reciting the wonders of Restless Leg Syndrome. Since a
good "Syndrome" should always occur in twos, I've now had the good
fortune to acquire "Bloody Foot Syndrome", something that occurs when
hiking a mountain with bad shoes.
UPDATE on the UPTAKE
With
the Nexus Origin cover finally done (these things take longer and
longer as I get older--I have an idea why, but it's only a theory) and
with the fan commissions down the last few strokes of my El Marko, Gino
tells me I can at last move on to the final cover of the Nexus
mini-series. TA-DAAAA! Which was true until we decided to begin the
launch of the new Nexus Archive books...
now in b & w and "Manga" size. We're told these new books will draw
in readers of the Manga persuasion who won't look at anything larger
than a half-size comic book. Of course, new covers must be sported
again, which I've decided to render in charcoal,
reflecting the inside format of its non-color contents. Naturally, this
goes against the common wisdom of Diamond and many other industry book
sellers, who told me to do otherwise. But like the Scarecrow, Tin Man,
and Lion, the Dude marches to his own beat, as he makes the always
uphill journey to the top of the mountain, bloody feet intact.

UNOFFICIAL news...
Nexus 102 is currently still with the inker. The first half of the inks have been completed and once I have everything in hand I'll compile the ashcan. It will also mean we can finally SOLICIT the book!!
In the meantime, we've been trying to come up with some sales ideas that don't involve Steve putting more original art up for sale or more commission sketches which takes him away from what he really wants to do.

Below that are some T-shirt ideas that we've been tossing around. I can order them print on demad so they're already loaded in the store! Turn around is quick and the images are printed directly on the shirt for a longer lasting image!
Let us know what your thought are!! I'm putting together the 2009 sketchbook and the price will likely go up this year as Steve plans to incorporate even more colored pages. We're tossing around some print ideas and will definitely offer a free print again this year.
