A WORD FROM STEVE
Dear Reader/Retailer,
There are ways to conduct yourself when starting a
business and even easier ways to condemn yourself into short-lived obvlivion.
The first 2 issues released under Rude Dude have not been model ways
to inaugurate oneself to the world's finest people who buy our books.
Shamefully, the fault rests squarely on the upper anterior of Steve Rude, Mr.
Humility himself, who is here to announce to ye-of-great-faith the
simple corrective measure to this brief embarrassment. Here it is:
In the future, all books produced by Rude Dude; Nexus,
The Moth, and Amazing Dude Tales, will not be solicited or
released until the damn things are done. Meaning, we produce the entire lastest
4-issue run all the way through to the last hand-lettered Todd Klein period, and
then solicit the hype-choir to announce the good news and start the
presses. They'll still be a long wait between books--I've got even more picky
since I hit 50--but at least you won't be waiting 'till the cows come home of
the previous way. Let me know if you non-Wisconsin types need a translation for
that. The point; now the series (as they are ready) will be monthly, as I've always
intended them to be.

UPDATE ON NEXUS: SPACE OPERA
Nexus 101 is getting it's final color treatment and our designer is working on getting the book ready for print.
Nexus 102 is currently on the drawing board about 1/2 way completed.
So when will the rest of the series show up in your Diamond catalog? When it's finished. We've learned from our mistakes and do not want anything to get in the way of the books coming out on time or early this go around.

 2008 SKETCHBOOK NOW SHIPPING!
We are currently shipping the 2008 sketchbook. If you haven't ordered yet, we still have some Batman prints available and are charging $2 which covers the shipping cost.
We're working hard to get the store switched over to it's new platform. When we switch the main storefront over the print will be $5 + shipping with the sketchbook while supplies last. We only print 250 prints and DO NOT go to reprint.

SAN DIEGO WATERCOLOR
 We tried something different this year for the watercolors and it didn't really work out. Steve was supposed to do rough watercolors, but ended up wanting to do full watercolor paintings. The end result was he only had time to finish 1 during the entire show. We ended up taking 3 commissions. He'll do one in Atlanta at DragonCon coming up over Labor Day weekend and the other he'll finish at home after he's done with Nexus 102 (he should finish by the end of August). Any sponsors who wish to be on his sketchlist for DragonCon, he will also be doing 11x14 black and white marker sketches for $100 and sponsors are guaranteed a spot on the list. |
