Cedar Village E-News
August 10, 2012

Greetings!

The Olympics in London may be well underway but they are not to be outdone by our own Cedar Village Olympics!  On Wednesday we had our second major event-Wii bowling with staff vs. residents.  Of course, our resident bowlers, the Kosher Kingpins, have competed throughout the area and are a powerhouse team!  They did not disappoint in the Olympic competition and a great time was had by all.  We had wonderful refreshments, complete with cookies decorated with bowling pins.  Our Olympic flags were in evidence and the crowd appropriately cheered for all of the athletes competing.  Next week, we will be hosting a chair volleyball competition against the West Chester Senior Center team.  We'd love to have you cheer us on!

We've had a lot of great news coverage in the last week or so-hope you got a chance to see it.  If not, we've included links to the online stories so you can catch up!  We've had some press on the Shalom Center for Elder Abuse Prevention; on our wonderful facility dog Gates; on the upcoming Interfaith Mission to Israel, Building Bridges at Any Age. There are lots of great things going on at Cedar Village!  Speaking of the Shalom Center, we continue to work on spreading the word about elder abuse, what to look for, and how to help.  If you belong to a group or organization that might like to learn more about elder abuse prevention, let us know.  We'd love to meet with you, share information and answer any questions.  You can schedule a program by calling Rachel Festenstein at 754-3100 or emailing rfestenstein@cedarvillage.org.

Just over a week to the Cedar Village Golf Classic!  If you have not signed up, you can still squeak in under the wire. Call Cedar Village, or visit our website,  www.cedarvillage.org, for more details!  Even if you are not a golfer, we'd love to have you join us for dinner.  It's always a great event and this year, for the first time, we'll be at the Heritage Club in Mason.  It is a beautiful setting and a spectacular golf course.  You won't want to miss it!

All the best,
