Cedar Village E-News
April 12, 2012

Greetings!

What a joy to celebrate Passover with our Cedar Village family! We had close to 200 people for our Community Seder on Friday night. The Wilbur and Mary Jean Cohen Religious and Cultural Center was filled with family members of all ages and the wonderful music of  our friend and talented musician Dan Landau, Jude Jones, our wonderful music therapist, and our friend, Ollie Rollins.

On Monday, we had a Seder for our Health Care residents. We had 150 residents and staff, all sitting together and sharing a Seder and lovely lunch together. It was a very special afternoon and one we will long remember.

On Wednesday we celebrated our second annual Chocolate Seder, also great fun for all. Our chocolate Seder plates (truly!) boasted charoset that was trail mix, bitter herbs that were bittersweet chocolate, chocolate lollypops for the shank bones,  karpas that was strawberries with chocolate sauce for dipping! We had white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate matzos on the tables too. And our festive meal was fruit and cheese!

We had a great event on Thursday at the Amberley House apartments. We brought lunch and had a great time visiting with their residents. Dan Landau joined us for some music and a sing-a-long. We are always delighted to tell folks about Cedar Village and our programs. If you have a group that might enjoy a visit, let us know. We'd be happy to plan something for you.

All the best,

Healthy habits include exercise and good eating habits. Sometimes it is difficult to resist the urge to snack on unhealthy foods.   Click here for some suggestions for avoiding unhealthy snacking habits.   Exercise is for everyone-if you have experienced a loss of strength or have a disability that affects your participation in routine exercises, let the therapists at Cedar Village help you reach your potential for increased strength and endurance.
