Greetings!
We are always working to change and improve for the benefit of our residents. One area that we continually work to refine is dining and to make meals a pleasant "dining experience.". For several weeks, we've been piloting a new dining system on the Cherry unit in the Health Care Center. Rather than having everyone in the dining room at the same time, we now have expanded the dining hours and changed the flow of residents into the dining room. It's a joint effort between Nursing and Dining Services and it is working beautifully. Feedback from residents, family members and staff has all been positive and we are happy to be moving this forward. There will be more changes on our other units, tailored for that specific population, that we believe will also result in big improvements there as well. We had some great highlights this past week. On Sunday, thanks to the generosity of the Berg Fund, we took more than 20 residents to see Billy Elliot at the Aronoff Theatre. Everyone loved this high energy show and a good time was had by all! We are so fortunate to have both the Berg and Harkavy funds which provide spectacular programs for our residents. Tuesday evening was laughter-filled as we had the annual, and much anticipated, Joke night featuring Jerry Teller and Leo Wayne. It has become a tradition and everyone loves it! Next week we look forward to Resident of the Month and a start to a special event that will take place throughout the month of February. We are turning February into Wellness month and we will have a special wellness event every Wednesday. Stay tuned for details! All the best, Carol Silver Elliott CEO/President
