Another holiday week and an early e-newsletter! We have both of our sukkahs set up at Cedar Village and they are lovely and well decorated. We had some wonderful decorations provided by students from Rockwern Academy and we've also had a few projects of our own to create that fall feeling we all enjoy seeing in a sukkah! We have services taking place in both the Temple and the Synagogue and during Sukkoth we will have a variety of activities for residents including "pizza in the hut;" kiddush in the sukkah and more. At any time, residents or families may go out and use the sukkah as a place to chat and visit or share a meal or snack. Let's hope the weather is conducive to lots of those activities during the holiday!
On Tuesday evening we had our first Chai Circle reception at Cedar Village. The Chai Circle is an annual giving program that encourages ongoing commitments of $500 or more. These gifts may be specifically for Chai Circle or can also be cumulative gifts to Cedar Village for that year. The program began in 2010 and this initial celebration was a lovely evening. We had one of our favorite performers, Greg Lee, here to entertain and our Dining Services folks did an amazing job with the food. From our signature Cedar Village smoked salmon to house made sushi and stuffed mushrooms to gorgeous desserts, it was all wonderful. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to building the membership in Chai Circle and having even bigger events to recognize these important donors.
Here are some dates to remember: On Wednesday, October 26 at 2 p.m. the Cedar Village Kosher Kingpins will host the second Wii bowling match in our three match tournament with Otterbein and Sycamore Glen. In addition to the special brunch, there will be tours and information available regarding are incredible apartments in Oak View and Fountain View.
