Greetings!
We had a wonderful Rosh Hashanah celebration at Cedar Village. Both the Reform and Orthodox services were well attended and, as always, we held a joint Kiddush in the Deli and enjoyed being together. We will begin our Yom Kippur holiday this evening and continue through the day tomorrow. Once again, we welcome you to share the holiday with us at Cedar Village. Don't forget that we also have an Intergenerational Service at 9 a.m. in the Temple for anyone with young children. We love to see multiple generations in that service and it is a great experience for all.
Our October Resident of the Month program was held this week and, as always, it was a wonderful evening. When we share stories and words of wisdom from our residents, we always come away enlightened and inspired. Each individual has a unique story to tell and their words of wisdom are always powerful. The whole evening is really spectacular and, if you are ever available on the first Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m., stop by and listen. I promise an experience you won't soon forget!
We had the first game in our Wii bowling league this week! We are in a league with residents from Otterbein Lebanon and Sycamore Glen from Dayton. The Cedar Village "Kosher Kingpins" traveled to Otterbein dressed in their bright blue uniform shirts, accompanied by their cheerleading squad. Otterbein and Sycamore Glen have been playing for several years and we are the new kids on the block. So, despite a great effort by our team and lots of cheering from the fans, we did not have a winning outcome. The next match will be here at Cedar Village and the final match of this series will be in Dayton, at Sycamore Glen. Winner is determined at the end of the series by cumulative points so we are still in the running!
All the best, Carol Silver Elliott CEO/President carol@cedarvillage.org |
